NXT Trainer Released, Austin Talks Real Fights, JR To UFC? Ambrose’s Ritual, WWE Workout DVD Covers

Eugene Released From NXT

Nick “Eugene” Dinsmore has been released from his role as a trainer at WWE’s Performance Center.

Did Austin Ever Have Real Fights?

Steve Austin was asked by the Bro Bible podcast if he ever had fights backstage or outside of the ring:

“As a Hollywood Blonde, Brian Pillman and I had some pretty good heat, but it was well past the time in our industry where you had to worry about a fan trying something on the way back to the dressing room,” Austin said. “I’ve heard stories of guys having to fight their way back to the locker room and getting stuck with knives or people try to cut them back when wrestling was quote, unquote real.

“I’ve never personally had any altercations with fans in an arena or out in public. The worst I’d get was maybe some drunk guy at a bar wanted to arm wrestle but I’d usually just defuse the situation with a ‘hey man let me buy you a beer’ and things would blow over. Thankfully, but almost regretfully, none of those old ‘drunk guy at a bar’ ever transcended into an altercation with me just because a wrestler always wants one old war story to tell.”

Fox Teases JR To UFC

Fox Sports did an article on Jim Ross’ move to MMA announcing alongside Chael Sonnen for the Battlegrounds promotion. On Facebook they pondered whether he’d go to UFC, which received mixed reactions among followers:

As noted earlier this week it’s possible that Jim Ross will call the GFW/NJPW PPV in January.

What Ambrose Does Before Matches

Dean Ambrose said he doesn’t have any specific pre-match ritual in an interview with NJ.com:

“I listen to some Hank Williams before I go out. I tell some jokes. I have fun. I don’t waste too much energy thinking about it – I like to save that all for the ring. The calmest part of my day is right before a match.”
