NXT Revolution Fallout, Graves Retires, Del Rio Joins ROH, Santino Has More Surgery, UFC Star Rips Punk

NXT Revolution Gets Mad Props

Last night’s “NXT Revolution” special event on the WWE Network has received rave reviews from critics and fans alike, and Triple H took the storyline route with Vince McMahon’s recent “brass ring” comments to put over the show:

One of the bigger stories coming out of the show is that Corey Graves has retired from in-ring action and will now be involved with announcing and interviewing. The 30 year old former “Sterling James Keenan” has suffered several concussions and other injuries and WWE are no longer willing to invest in his future as a wrestler.

WWE could have very easily discarded me and said, ‘You’re not able to do what we hired you for any more, so good luck to you,’” Graves told WWE.com. “I like to think that they saw value in me, not only in the ring, but in what I’ve been able to prove I can do in the months since then.”

Here’s what went down on the card:

– Kevin Owens debuted and defeated CJ Parker in a bloody bout, that left Parker with a deep gash in his hand and Owens with a bloody nose.

– NXT Tag Team Champions The Lucha Dragons def. The Vaudevillains.

– Baron Corbin def. Tye Dillinger.

– Hideo Itami & Finn Bálor def. The Ascension.

– NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte def. Sasha Banks.

– Sami Zayn def. Adrian Neville to win the NXT Championship, and Kevin Owens turned heel and attacked Zayn after the match.

– Ric Flair and Pat Patterson were backstage at the event, as was Brian Kendrick and former TNA star Crimson who has been have tryouts for the company.

Alberto Del Rio Signs With ROH

Former WWE star and current AAA Champion El Patron (Alberto Del Rio) has now signed with ROH. It looks like he wasn’t interested in TNA because they definitely made him an offer.

Upon signing with ROH, Alberto has requested that Ring of Honor matchmaker Nigel McGuinness challenge him with the very best that ROH has to offer, and many of the stars in Ring of Honor have already started making phone calls to Nigel to take on El Patron.

“Ring of Honor has been doing fantastic things. There’s a lot of excitement surrounding this company and I look forward to competing against the best of the best in ROH in 2015,” says Alberto El Patron.

Could we see him face ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe? Adam Cole? AJ Styles? ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal? Matt Sydal? Roderick Strong? The list of world class match-ups is endless!

Santino Not Returning Any Time Soon

Despite announcing his return to wrestling, Santino ended up having to have another neck surgery meaning he won’t be back any time soon. He wrote on Twitter:

UFC Star Shoots On CM Punk

Although he has some supporters plenty of MMA stars also do not like the fact that CM Punk leapfrogged in to the UFC despite have no pro experience. Nate Diaz told MMA Junkie:

He might do great, but why does he get a chance? He’s an amateur. You’re going to put an amateur in there with pros? That makes us all amateurs, so I think it’s ridiculous. As far as I’m concerned, f-ck him, f-ck the whole situation.
