Round 2 With CM Punk and Colt Cabana
CM Punk was back on Colt Cabana’s podcast this week following up on his departure from WWE. He says the recent podcast between Vince McMahon and Steve Austin was a publicity stunt. He maintains getting his release papers on his wedding was deliberate and not a coincidence like McMahon suggested. He says Triple H spoke to him two days before his wedding and new exactly what was going on.
He says if Vince was being sincere in his apology he would have done it personally over the phone, not on a WWE Network podcast.
It’s been suggested that Punk may have rubbed people the wrong way due to “poor communication skills,” but he says the communication problem was on WWE’s end. He says the Talent Relations department was a mess, with people that know nothing about wrestling, the terms the boys use, or sometimes even who they are. He explained that the department is supposed to be the bridge between the wrestlers and management, but they can’t even “relate” to the wrestlers in any way.
