JR Addresses Network Rumors
Jim Ross addressed rumors that he’s going to appear on the WWE Network in a new JRSBARBQ.com blog:
Regarding my potential involvement with the @WWENetwork, we are in the preliminary, talking stages but I’d love to participate with them at some point in the future if schedules, etc can be addressed. I’ve been a subscriber since day one and love the network and encourage all who haven’t to give it a try. So, nothing whatsoever is etched in stone but there is dialog ongoing and we will see where it goes over the next few weeks/months. It’s all positive which is where healthy negotiations begin.
Layla Returns On SmackDown
WWE Diva Layla made her return on this week’s SmackDown. Word is that she may end up transitioning in to an interviewer/Network host role:
Barrett Says Rooney Would Be Heel
Bad News Barrett told Squawka.com that he thinks soccer star Wayne Rooney would make a great heel in wrestling:
I think Wayne Rooney would be great in the WWE – I mean he’s universally hated. He’s very good at getting booed, very good at getting a reaction. He’s obviously a great athlete, the question is; is he up to the task of stepping into the ring with some of the toughest guys in the world like me? That remains to be seen.
Ted DiBiase On Vince vs Bischoff
In a recent interview with Turnbuckle Weekly The Million Dollar – Ted DiBiase – compared Vince McMahon to Eric Bischoff:
The difference between Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon is Vince McMahon knows how to create a star. Eric took a company and took it down. I remember a conversation one night after one of the shows, and Eric said he was going to put Vince out of business. I just laughed at him and said ‘are you kidding me?’ Even if Vince retreats a little bit, he ain’t going away. I don’t think you or anybody else are going to run him out of business.
He also discussed how WWE paid for him to live his gimmick:
In an effort to make people believe you really are rich, we’re going to fly you everywhere first class. You’re going to stay in first-class accommodations, and you’ll have limousine service daily.
