Best Impact Rating In Months
This week’s episode of TNA Impact Wrestling on Spike TV drew an average audience of 1.393 million viewers, up from last week’s 1.128 million number, and the best rating in nearly 6 months.
The show featured the final appearance of AJ Styles, who lost a unification match against Magnus.
Dixie Carter To Sign New Wrestlers
Dixie Carter is still promising to bring in new talent. On Twitter this week she wrote:
“Out with the old… In with the new… I am personally looking at every potential new talent to create the #Genesis of the future of TNA.”
Jay Bradley who has been working down at OVW, TNA’s former developmental group responded:
“@TNADixie just reminding you I have big, broad shoulders that can carry things like tv shows, companies, etc”
Bischoff Says WWE Network May Help TNA
Eric Bischoff speculated on Twitter yesterday that if PPV providers like DirecTV do end up dropping WWE, it could be a good thing for TNA:
“Direct TV dropping WWE PPVs would open up some programming and promotional real estate for other producers (TNA, Bellator) who havent gotten a lot of promotional love. Could be a win/win/win. Interesting to watch this unfold”
What might not be good for TNA is that the live stream of WWE NXT on February 27th will be airing on the Network head-to-head with Impact. Though it’s unlikely to cause a dent right away, if future programming goes head-to-head we may have a little war on our hands.
Speaking of TNA their 365 concept is believed to be their way of trying to pre-empt WWE’s Network. At various stages themselves they have attempted to provide their archive content online, but have been unable to get any traction behind it.
