Mick Foley Will Be Angry If Bryan Doesn’t Win
Despite not being officially announced for the match Mick Foley is calling for Daniel Bryan to win the Royal Rumble tonight. He wrote on Facebook:
With the exception of Mania, this is the most wonderful day of the year for this wrestling fan. The Rumble match ALWAYS delivers – with plenty of drama, some humorous moments, and a couple of crowd-pleasing surprises each year. Like many of you, I’m hoping for an entry from Jake the Snake this year.
This year’s Rumble takes on an added dimension however. This year’s winner doesn’t get to choose his opponent, and become a participant in ONE of the main event matches at Wrestlemania; he becomes a participant in THE main event at Wrestlemania.
There is another added dimension to this year’s Rumble as well. In no other year that I can remember has there been such a groundswell of good-will towards one particular participant. I still have that brick – that nice, new, red brick – I purchased just for the Rumble (it’s right here beside me) and if DANIEL BRYAN doesn’t win this Rumble, I’m going to take that nice, new, red brick…and throw it through my television set.
I don’t expect you guys to take out your frustration on an innocent television set, but I do think there will be an AWFUL lot of AWFULLY disappointed WWE fans leaving the building tonight in Pittsburgh, and turning off their televisions around the world.
I like my TV. Here’s hoping that the nice, new, red brick I bought will never need to serve its purpose.
It’s likely WWE will have Bryan as a surprise entrant. The online betting sites such as Sky Bet, Paddy Power, and William Hill already consider this a given, and have him favorite to win the match. Sky Bet for example lists the following odds:
1) Daniel Bryan (8/15)
2) Batista (6/4)
3) CM Punk (8/1)
4) Roman Reigns (10/1)
5) Sheamus / Big E Langston (25/1)
Betting on WWE is now commonplace for the big events.
Big Show Injured Ahead of Rumble?
Live fan reports from last night’s WWE house show in Reading, PA, suggest Big Show was injured in a match with Kane.
In a spot where Show went for the KO punch and Kane ducked, it’s believed he legit caught a hard part of the turnbuckle. The match was cut short and he was attended to by officials.
WWE have made no mention of the injury or how it might or might not alter tonight’s match with Brock Lesnar.
Possible Surprise Rumble Appearances
Sean Waltman and Kevin Nash are both on site for tonight’s Royal Rumble, though that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll appear on camera or be in the match. As previously reported Chris Jericho and Sheamus are both booked nearby for the World of Wheels event and could therefore potentially show up.
Jimmy Yang teased on Twitter that he may be there also:
“My last few days have been pretty interesting I got question what’s everybody favorite number? I’ll tell you mine Sunday”
As usual Wade Barrett made his joke about Papa Shango being in the match.
