Elimination Chamber Dropped, CM Punk 2K15 Footage, WWE Responds To Haynes Lawsuit, PPV Card

WWE Cancel Elimination Chamber PPV

It’s rumored that WWE have cancelled the February Elimination Chamber PPV event, and will instead be using the match when storylines permit. Word is that they want to stick with the Royal Rumble winner going on to face the Champion at Wrestlemania formula, without any shenanigans in-between. It make sense since there’s now only one title now.

[I’ve never been a fan of the match-branded PPVs because the matches lose their special feel, and storylines either don’t make sense for the matches or have to be purposefully crafted for the matches. Both scenarios seem unrealistic to me.]

A new PPV will take its place.

CM Punk vs Randy Orton Game Footage

A Youtube user who managed to get an advanced copy of the PS3/Xbox 360 version of WWE 2K15 has uploaded a video of CM Punk vs Randy Orton:

This version drops on October 28th in North America, and Halloween in the UK.

WWE Dismisses Billy Jack Haynes’ Lawsuit

WWE have responded to Billy Jack Haynes’ lawsuit in the only way they could … pointing out that there was no sound scientific knowledge about head trauma in wrestling during the 80s:

Billy Jack Haynes performed for WWE from 1986-1988. His filed lawsuit alleges that WWE concealed medical information and evidence on concussions during that time, which is impossible since the condition now called chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) had not even been discovered. WWE was well ahead of sports organizations in implementing concussion management procedures and policies as a precautionary measure as the science and research on this issue emerged. Current WWE procedures include ImPACT testing for brain function, annual educational seminars and the strict prohibition of deliberate and direct shots to the head. Additionally, WWE has committed significant funding for concussion research conducted by the Sports Legacy Institute (SLI), leaders in concussion research, and WWE Executive Vice President Paul Levesque sits on SLI’s Board.
