As previously reported the Wrestling Observer has claimed that Destination America are considering cancelling TNA Impact in the Fall because they don’t make the network a lot of ad revenue, despite doing better than many other shows on the Network. TNA have released an official statement which basically denies this:
Statement from TNA Regarding IMPACT WRESTLING
It has come to our attention that several internet news sources have falsely attributed statements to TNA, its executives and broadcasting partner. These false statements constitute defamation and if necessary we will seek all legal remedies available to us.
TNA’s new creative chief Billy Corgan targeted the Observer’s Dave Meltzer directly on Twitter:
@ldangeli It wouldn't be so bad if the whole truth was being reported and the person reporting wasn't being worked himself by a sloppy angle
There are also rumors that Dixie Carter may have annoyed Destination America officials by accidentally copying them in to an email where she refers to them as “dummies,” but this has not been confirmed.
Gail Kim Says McMahon Has No Clue
TNA Knockout Gail Kim took a shot at Vince McMahon on Twitter, saying he has no clue how to book women wrestlers:
ECW original Sabu recently told the UK’s WrestleTalkTV show that he doesn’t care about the WWE Hall of Fame, but would be honored to be inducted in to the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame:
I care nothing about the WWE Hall of Fame, but I would like to be inducted in to the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. They have one in Iowa and New York. Either one of those or both of those would mean a whole lot more. It’s just a money maker for WWE, it’s not to honor wrestlers. It’s to make a pay day for the company. Baseball Hall of Fame, they put the best in, they don’t put someone who sang the national anthem, or someone who did one appearance. It’s the fakest Hall of Fame I ever heard of. I would say ‘Yeah, I would do it.’ Then I would go up to do my speech and motherf–ker them.
