Del Rio Gone After Backstage Incident
WWE have just announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to an undisclosed backstage incident. WWE.com reports:
WWE announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee.
Del Rio signed with WWE in 2009 as part of their quest to find a new marketable Hispanic star.
He’s had a number of behaviour issues over the years, including shooting on the original Sin Cara twice in the ring, and getting overly personal with Batista on Twitter.
Before last year’s Summerslam Del Rio was also involved in a drunken bar fight the night before the event and ended up sporting a massive black eye in the ring.
Vice President of Creative Released
WWE have also released Vice President of Creative Eddie Feldmann as part of the ongoing budget cuts. It’s not clear if there was any particular reason that led to him getting the cut over others.
Feldmann only joined the company in 2013 after many years working in the TV industry.
